SHAKESPEARE'S LONDON

A view of The Globe circa 1616

From Visscher's Panoramic view of London circa 1616. The Globe is on the right, the Bear Garden on the left. The animal in front of the Bear Garden is probably a bear. Bear baiting was avidly followed, and the Bear Garden pre-dates the Globe by a number of years.
